We make vacuum bags in 20 mil vinyl, 20 mil polyurethane and 30 mil polyurethane. Generally speaking, vinyl is fine for flat or modestly curved work and for infrequent use. Vinyl is economical and is available in smaller sizes. For professional use however, the overwhelming choice is poly and for daily production or heavy use 30 mil is preferred. Poly bags are more costly than vinyl, but offer some significant benefits in use and durability. Poly will remain flexible in almost any temperature where vinyl tends to be a little stiff in cooler temperatures. For large curved work or pieces with a tight radius where confirmation is critical poly is the answer. |
